Art Basel stages the world's premier modern and contemporary art shows, held annually in Basel, Miami Beach, and Hong Kong as well as innovative artworld engagement platforms such as Art Basel Crowdfunding and Art Basel Cities. Art Basel is seeking Basel-based support for an:

Unlimited is an Art Basel in Basel sector that features large-scale installations, live performances and other artworks. Your role will be to assist in the realization of the sector as well as to complete additional tasks independently. You will also be given the opportunity to become acquainted with the behind-the-scenes operations of an art fair.

Accountabilities:

  • Communicating with galleries and external partners
  • Coordinating booth signage and on-site support
  • Control of architectural depiction of projects
  • Keeping a project-record of all projects for the quality control of technical requirements
  • Coordinating on-site staff schedule
  • Managing listings, answering queries received by telephone and email in German and English
  • Participating in project management briefings and meetings
  • Supporting the application and selection process of the gallery projects
  • Maintaining gallery information in our CRM system, including reporting
  • Proofreading support of printed materials
  • General office work

Requirements:
  • Exceptional manners and self confidence
  • Ability to integrate into a busy environment
  • Service oriented, trustworthy, and highly motivated: quick to learn and extremely meticulous
  • University degree or similar in a related field
  • Experience with exhibition planning and production, knowledge in creative fields a plus
  • Flexibility and ability to work well under pressure
  • Willingness to work irregular hours
  • Highly computer literate, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required, knowledge of CRM, CAD, CMS systems and Sketchup desirable
  • Native German speaker with an excellent command of English (both spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus

Important: we also have two temporary positions available within the Unlimited sector in 2017 (Duration 4 months and 7 months in the first semester of 2017).
