The Learning Sciences and Higher Education research group is part of the Department of Humanities, Social, and Political Sciences at ETH Zurich. Our aim is to conduct scientific inquiry into how people learn, and design and test interventions to impact teaching and learning in higher education contexts. Administrative Assistant (20-40%)
You will be responsible for providing independent support with a high degree of initiative and self-organization to the professor and his staff in administrative and organizational matters. You will be in charge of: general correspondence; financial management; human resources tasks; annual report and assembling of evaluations; organizing business trips; organization of exams and events; maintaining the websites of the research group with ETH Zurich's content management system; and visitor support. You will also foster contacts with multiple internal and external positions.
You have a business management education with several years of professional experience as administrative assistant. Your organization skills, independent tasking ability, and fluent English and German (spoken and written) enable you to fulfill our expectations professionally. You are a technically skilled, experienced user of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel), at ease with website maintenance and are happy to learn about new IT environments. You are willing to provide significant, independent support to the professorship and able to manage complex tasks. You bring loyalty, integrity, initiative, and reliability to the job, and have the interpersonal skills required in an international, dynamic environment.
