ASPIRE Business Process & ERP Site Deployment Lead, Basel Drug Substance Manufacturing

ASPIRE is a Roche-wide business transformation program that aims to deliver best-in-suite, user-centric digital solutions for Roche that will help manage our company as efficiently as possible.

We are transforming our end-to-end processes and systems landscape to one harmonized process house and systems landscape across the Roche enterprise, with SAP S/4HANA at its core.

ASPIRE will create one single source of truth for data and will become the digital backbone of our company, making planning, ordering, producing, supplying, paying and receiving payments at any point of the world as seamless as possible.

The ASPIRE Site Deployment Lead leads the local project to deploy the ASPIRE process and systems landscape at the Basel Drug Substance Manufacturing site.

The Site Deployment Lead will work in close alignment and collaboration with various stakeholders from within the manufacturing site (i.e. Site Leadership Team, main functional contacts but also experts from various disciplines) from the Basel/Kaiseraugst site (site functions such as site engineering, procurement, finance, asset care, IT) as well as with the global Aspire program team.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks

  • Leads the local cross-functional ASPIRE project team

  • Align the various substreams and subprojects (expect a considerable team size of well over 30 persons at peak)

  • Has regular visibility to and engages the site leadership team (LT)

  • Develop and onboard a local deployment team. He/She identifies resources to form a Deployment Team who will perform the deployment activities prior to the go-live (e.g. data clean-up, testing, training delivery, etc). Develop and onboard local deployment team and SMEs

  • Reviews and aligns local project plans in collaboration with Global Project Team to ensure site complexities and scope are aligned.

  • He/she is accountable to coordinate detailed site execution activities to secure site success. This includes:

    • Local budgeting

    • Local schedule planning, execution and milestone controlling

    • Ensure execution of project deployment in line with agreed project milestones

    • Ownership for the Local Impact Assessments and its execution

    • Evaluation of impact on downtime schedule in alignment with other site projects

    • Local resource requirements and escalations where required

    • Partners with the ASPIRE global team to mobilize the required budget and resources for the site activities

    • Collaborate with stakeholders at Basel/Kaiseraugst site to align deployment activities where needed

    • Identify, communicate and manage project risks

    • Project reporting to Site LT and global program team

  • Facilitate knowledge management across the sites

  • Act as primary change agent for the project

    • Conveys a positive message of the future and gets site LT buy-in

    • Identifies and manages resistance

    • Coaches, motivates and leads people at the site through the change

    • Defines and ensures execution of local OCM strategy

    • Explain the decision making process and the decisions made by the global program and embed them in the overall pictureThe site deployment lead accountable for the overall local project until after deployment and hypercare phase

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education in Project Management, IT or Sciences

  • Project management training or certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or similar is highly beneficial

  • At least 5-10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry (i.e. pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, operations management, supply chain, IT or similar)

  • Broad understanding of the wider business and business processes including finance/procurement is beneficial

  • experience with the implementation of complex large scale projects with many stakeholders
