Mainframe Production Control (Batch Scheduler)

Job Description:

• Responsible for supporting and maintaining the Scheduling Platform, running on BMC CONTROL-M (both TSO and Enterprise Manager GUI versions).
• Proactively monitoring daily production batch and file transmissions for potential failures and delays as per the Client checklist.
• Work closely with various Application support, Development, and z/OS Support teams for their batch scheduling requirements.
• Providing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to determine the facts based on the problem.
• Adherence to Change Management process and controls flow for various changes being implemented.
• Identify opportunities to improve/automate the existing processes.

Required Skills:

• Sound hands on experience (6-10 years) as a Batch Job Scheduler (Production Control Analyst) working in Mainframe environments.
• Review change requests and deploy batch jobs (add/remove/modify) in the Scheduler too
• Scheduling experience on Mainframe Scheduler tool BMC CONTROL-M (TSO and Enterprise Manager GUI versions).
• Good knowledge of JCLs and PROCs.
• Troubleshooting experience - job failures, hung jobs, and remote agent and resource issues, etc.
• Provide business off-hours on-call support (optional).
• Design and implementation of schedule definitions for new batch projects per project requirements.
• Perform calendar build and maintenance.
• Perform activities such as Batch Forecasting during BCP / Disaster Recovery / Maintenance situations.
• Provide audit support from an infrastructure standpoint.
• Experience of supporting in multi-instance platform.
• Testing of automation tools and new operational processes and procedures during version and/or infrastructure upgrades.
• Certification (desirable): Any major Mainframe Scheduling product.
