As Master Data Manager – Value Chain (m/f/d), you will play a central role in shaping and improving Master Data across our global value chain.

The position combines strategic development, operational improvement and cross-functional coordination. A key focus is driving the Master Data agenda within the Phoenix S/4HANA transformation, while at the same time improving current data quality, addressing operational pain points and establishing sustainable governance structures.

You will act as an important interface between business functions, global governance and IT, ensuring that Master Data supports operational excellence, process stability and future scalability across sourcing, planning, logistics and procurement.

Your Responsibilities:

Strategic Development & Transformation

• Lead and steer the strategic development of Master Data within the Phoenix S/4HANA transformation environment within Value Chain.

• Drive the Big Rock “Master Data” and support the development of a future-ready end-to-end Master Data operating model.

• Define ownership, governance principles and future standards across divisions and functions.

• Ensure alignment with Data Migration, Business Workstream Leads and transformation priorities.

Operational Master Data Improvement

• Identify operational Master Data pain points and translate them into sustainable improvements.

• Drive structured data quality initiatives across relevant business areas.

• Establish KPIs, validation rules and regular health reviews.

• Improve process stability by reducing inconsistencies and manual interventions.

• Support workflow-based improvements for master data changes and approvals.

Interface & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Act as central point of contact for Master Data requirements across: Direct & Indirect Sourcing, TT&L, P2P, Planning & Fulfillment and Supplier Base Management.

• Connect business requirements with governance standards and IT implementation.

• Ensure close collaboration with Global Master Data Governance, process owners and business stakeholders.

Your Background:

• Several years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance or related business environments.

• Strong understanding of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, ideally in transformation or migration environments.

• Good knowledge of end-to-end value chain processes, especially in sourcing, planning, logistics or procurement.

• Experience in driving cross-functional improvements and translating business needs into sustainable solutions.

• Ability to combine strategic thinking with operational execution.

• Strong analytical and structured working style.

• Confident communication across different organizational levels.

• Ability to align stakeholders and create clarity in complex environments.

• High level of ownership, initiative and implementation strength.

• Pragmatic mindset with the ability to focus on business impact.

• Fluent English and German.
