About Ojo de Agua
Ojo de Agua is the food & beverage producing business unit of the Swiss based Meier family. Our activities are guided by a long-term approach balancing rationalism, social responsibility and innovation. Ojo de Agua comprises 4 activities
- Our Bodega Ojo de Agua in Mendoza, Argentina crafts wines from the best terroirs Argentina has to offer. Our product lines "Malo", "Puro", "Ojo de Agua" and "Ojo Negro" are distributed locally and internationally
- The renowned Estancia Ojo de Agua in the Pampa Humeda, near Mar del Plata, Argentina, where we produce agricultural crops and breed black Angus and Hereford cattle to produce premium beef
- Ojo del Cielo, our ambitious philanthropic project to protect Patagonian wildlife by creating a nature reserve on 42k ha in the Rio Negro Province, Patagonia
- Ojo de Ibiza, a young winemaking project on the island of Ibiza and produces the iconic Ojo de Ibiza Rosé as well as characterful red and white wine
Role Overview
We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager with a strong commercial acumen to drive Bodega Ojo de Agua’s international expansion in the wine market. The role combines strategy development, sales and project management in an international context
Key Responsibilities
International Business Development
- Lead new market entry and drive business development initiatives to expand wine sales of Bodega Ojo de Agua internationally beyond our existing markets (Scope: Americas beyond Argentina, Asia, EU beyond DACH)
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with Ojo de Agua's overall vision and represent Ojo de Agua in high-level discussions with partners and at events
- Identify and secure strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as distributors, retailers, key customers, government agencies and wine organizations
Sales Leadership
- Co-develop Ojo de Agua's international sales strategy with the CEO and the team of Bodega Ojo de Agua in Argentina
- Manage sales budget, -forecast, and reporting
- Provide continuous market feedback and participate in strategic sessions to develop our portfolio and solutions. Travel as needed to Mendoza.
Project Management
- Develop and drive strategy & P&L of our young Ojo de Ibiza project
- Lead a small local operations team in Ibiza and travel as needed to Ibiza
- Take ownership of other strategic projects within the Bodega Ojo de Agua scope
Required Qualities & Qualifications
- Extensive international commercial experience in B2B sales / business development in the wine industry or similar industry
- Self-starter with ability to operate in fast-paced, evolving contexts and a drive to deliver
- Team player with experience in managing projects across countries
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and at least intermediate Spanish skills with an eagerness to develop them. German is a plus
- Strong Excel and ppt skills
