We offer a challenging position in the Origination and Transactions team of Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP), an investment boutique specialized in private equity investments in the energy infrastructure sector. EIP is a pioneer in this field and acts as an investment manager for a number of institutional investment vehicles with around EUR 3bn assets currently under management.

The managed investment vehicles invest directly in energy infrastructure assets, projects and companies that own, operate and/or develop assets along the entire energy value chain – from hydroelectric power plants, power and gas grids to solar and wind farms, both off- and onshore. With origins in Europe, the EIP team is currently expanding its focus to global investment activities with particular attention on OECD countries in Europe, APAC, the US and Latin America.

Investment Vice President


Reporting to Origination and Transactions team leadership, the new Investment Vice President will be responsible for the appraisal, structuring, negotiation and execution of energy infrastructure investments globally, along with supporting the origination phase of transactions. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:

  • Independently leading a junior team of analysts and associates, the Investment Vice President is responsible for the execution of the due diligence process, the structuring of potential debt financing and offtake agreements, valuations and coordination of advisors including inter alia technical, legal, financial, tax and M&A
  • Negotiation of key transaction and governance documentation with (industrial) partners and sellers in cooperation with the team leads
  • Preparation of investment memoranda including key risks and mitigants; presenting these to the Investment Committee
  • Independent research on specific markets and investment opportunities including the derivation of possible investment strategies
  • Support marketing activities, especially in institutional client meetings regarding fundraising activities, jointly with the Client Solutions team
  • Working closely with colleagues in the Asset Management team to manage the transition of investments post-financial close, e.g. through board of director mandates


  • Excellent academic background with completed studies in business administration or natural/engineering sciences with a master’s degree or Ph.D. from a globally recognized top-tier university or business school
  • At least 6-8 years investment experience working on sizeable infrastructure transactions, preferably in the global energy sector. This experience will most likely come from another fund, financial investor, or possibly from a leading investment bank, boutique advisor or in the M&A team of an asset developer/utility
  • First-rate M&A skills, gained from a substantial track record of leading transactions across multiple jurisdictions through conducting due diligence processes in the infrastructure sector and negotiating transactions independently
  • Familiarity with co-investment structures, project financing and strong commercial and technical expertise with an excellent understanding of the key value drivers and risks of potential investments
  • Experience in project management and leading a junior team with high potential
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking and ability to quickly familiarize oneself with complex topics
  • Independent, proactive, flexible and entrepreneurial action; therefore, self-motivating, and with a positive, can-do approach
  • Convincing and senior personality with excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English is a must; knowledge of German, French or Spanish is an advantage
