ObsEva is recruiting for its Finance team in Geneva a Finance Director Reporting to the VP Finance the Finance Director will be responsible for the accuracy of the accounts and the issuance of a monthly financial report to the senior management of the company. He will prepare the consolidated financial statements under IFRS on a quarterly basis and the Swiss standalone financial statements under Swiss CO annually. He will ensure the company complies with all applicable accounting and financial reporting standards and is ready for upcoming changes in these. He/she will work closely with the VP Finance Corporate Affairs and the Financial Controller for all financial reporting obligations pertaining to a Swiss-based US-listed company and will provide support on other ad-hoc project following the growth of the company.
KEY TASKS RESPONSIBILITIES
Control and ensure accuracy of bookkeeping and cut-off for monthly closings
Post entries prepared by the Chief Accountant to books
Control of account reconciliations prepared by the Chief Accountant
Prepare complex account reconciliations
Generally act as a reviewer and approver of all tasks prepared by the Chief Accountant
Ensure compliance with accounting policies including adoption of new standards related to existing and unique transactions in the appropriate periods
Identify proposed changes by IASB and others boards or jurisdictions as needed and perform analysis of potential impact of these changes on the company
Perform accounting researches from GAAP SEC and IFRS standards and write accounting memos as needed to support management's view on accounting or financial reporting.
Prepare monthly operational finance reports including but not limited to preparation of trial balances balance sheets statements of profit and loss cash flow statements and statement of changes in equity and variance analysis of the foregoing vs both the budget and prior periods
Prepare annual and quarterly consolidated financial statements under IFRS using online participative document management tools
Prepare annual standalone financial statements for the Swiss holding company under Swiss CO
Provide support to the Finance team with all SEC filings as needed including 20-F and 6-K
Manage the audit disclosure checklist
Control Swiss VAT prepared by the Chief Accountant
Prepare the Swiss income tax return
Manage other non-VAT Swiss taxes
Manage the accounting software as Administrator
Manage Accounting team
Liaise with the external audit teams on a day-to-day basis
Ensure effectiveness of SOX control environment for all areas under responsibility
Support the implementation and maintenance of additional G A systems software or processes
Prepare NPV calculations for the Group's products
Any adhoc projects
University degree or technical school equivalent in business with focus on accounting and finance
Complete fluency in English French is a plus
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE
5 to 10 years in Audit firm and/or industry
Experience within a Public Company and the Pharmaceutical industry preferred
Strong analytical mind and strong knowledge of business processes in general and within the pharmaceutical industry in particular
Excellent understanding and knowledge of Swiss and IFRS accounting standards
Ability to prepare and present to Management business analysis documents
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
