Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH (PWAEI) is an international aerospace company headquartered in Luzern, Switzerland, and a wholly owned subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).PWAEI is collaborating with three other aerospace companies as part of IAE International Aero Engines AG (IAE), to produce and maintain the V2500 commercial aircraft engine, which powers the Airbus A320 family of aircraft.
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that PWAEI products satisfy IAE and FAA/EASA regulatory requirements.In this role, the Quality Engineer will participate on multidiscipline IAE party company teams to resolve quality issues associated with engine/component design, production hardware, aftermarket support, and airframer/airline customer support is required.This position reports to the Quality Manager of PWAEI, and is located at PWAEI headquarters in Luzern, Switzerland.
Areas of responsibility include:
Managing Concessions and Deviations Permits
Develop suppliers to reduce quality escapes and number of concessions / Deviation Permits
Support Work Transition risk mitigation process when transferring manufacturing from one supplier to another sub tier
Ensure compliance to all Quality Plans established with IAE,Pratt & Whitney, and suppliers
Report hardware escapes to customer/partners
Work with personnel of the V2500 partner companies, suppliers and IAE to resolve emerging quality issues
Manage, review and approve Corrective Action Request Reports (CARRs) issued to PWAEI in the IAE system
Oversight of Engineering dispositions of Manufacturing Quality defects
Carry out internal and external audits
Support Continuous Improvement within PWAEI
Maintain effective metrics that monitor PWAEI suppliers quality performance and concessions process
Backing up other quality team members if necessary
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or other related field
5+ years of practical experience in Quality Assurance systems
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement programs
EN9100/AS9100 or ISO9001 knowledge
Knowledge of and experience with Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and Europe Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) processes and regulations desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work with an international workforce
Fluency in English language; verbal and written.
German language desired.
Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office

Self-confident and capable of undertaking new challenging assignments
Interest in working in an international environment with cross-culture appreciation
Other Qualifications and Information:
Travel required within Europe, and other locations as required
