As an Associate Specialist in Soft Matter Formulation in the Department of Technology (Institute of Materials Sciences, Nestle Research), you will support and lead science based rapid prototyping activities focusing on going beyond traditional dairy into alternative/sustainable sources. You will work on both internal and external collaborations (university and ingredient suppliers) focusing on innovative ingredients / technology solutions, translating them into innovative prototypes with entrepreneurial spirit. You will explore cross category applications of scientific ideas by developing and stretching scientific findings into concrete food applications.
Propose and contribute to the creation of new ideas and effectively transfer scientific concepts into prototypes in collaboration with scientists and project managers. Be able to run these activities and communicate/present activities back to key clients without supervision
Design and conduct experimental work from bench scale to pilot production in order to realise scientific concepts into consumer products
Contribute to business related project activities with a proactive participation. Present results in written and oral form to relevant team members and stakeholders.
Integrate technical and formulation competencies into business relevant activities and prototypes
Ensure regular update on recent ingredients and product innovations.
PhD in Colloidal Sciences, Soft Matter, Rheology, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering
Proven track record in experimental soft matter and/or colloidal science; Experience of process engineering, food formulation and prototyping a plus
Result driven and ability to deliver to tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills to a variety of audiences
Fluent in English, any other language a plus
Passion for translating science into relevant consumer centric product concepts and prototypes
