Senior Trading Operator - Jet Fuel

Job description:

Our client is an Energy Trading group in Zug.

On behalf of our client, Swisslinx is looking for a driven and experienced Senior Operator - Jet Fuel to join a dynamic operations team within a global trading environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of jet fuel cargoes, ensuring smooth coordination, timely delivery, and compliance across all operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all operational aspects of jet fuel cargoes from deal confirmation to final delivery.
  • Coordinate directly with shipping partners, including vessel nominations, terminal operations, and management of documentation (e.g., bills of lading, customs, letters of credit).
  • Develop and maintain operational plans and schedules to ensure timely and efficient execution of cargoes.
  • Act as a point of reference within the operations team, delegating and coordinating tasks to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Monitor execution progress, anticipate potential delays, and take proactive steps to meet delivery commitments.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as shipping agents, terminals, and inspectors for operational follow-up.
  • Ensure all operations are executed in compliance with contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues or discrepancies quickly and professionally.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in jet fuel operations within a trading company or oil major.
  • Familiarity with jet fuel blending or quality management procedures is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, Incoterms, and trading documentation.
  • Ability and willingness to take on delegation and coordination responsibilities within the team over time.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to assess operational impact on trading decisions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple cargoes simultaneously.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Swiss/EUR national or an existing and valid working permit for Switzerland.
