Research Lab Engineer – Meditation and Neurotechnology
About All Here
All Here is a pioneering center for meditation research and innovation where ancient contemplative practices meet modern neuroscience. We study deep states of stillness, awareness, and attention using EEG, physiological signals, and personalized neurotechnology. In collaboration with expert meditators and leading scientists, our mission is to develop tools and knowledge that support transformative inner experiences.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Research Lab Engineer to join our team at the intersection of neurotechnology, contemplative science, and biomedical research. This role combines hands-on laboratory responsibilities (e.g., EEG setup, data collection) with advanced data analysis, signal processing, and development of brain-computer interface (BCI) tools.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, scientific curiosity, and a genuine interest in the inner workings of the mind through meditation and neuroscience.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and develop features for a Python-based Brain Computer Interface for online tracking of EEG data and meditation scores.
- Set up and maintain EEG and physiological measurement equipment for lab and field studies. recording sessions during meditation experiments in Geneva and international retreats
- Develop and use tools for signal processing, data analysis, and neurofeedback. Process and annotate EEG/biosignal data (e.g., filtering, ICA, feature extraction)
- Manage lab documentation, data integrity, and protocol adherence
- Help prepare equipment and coordinate logistics for mobile studies
- Collaborate with neuroscientists and engineers on experimental design and analysis pipelines
Your Profile
Required: • Master’s degree in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, computer science, physics, or a related field • Strong programming skills in Python and Matlab. • Experience with EEG signal processing and analysis • Ability to work independently with precision and responsibility • Interest in meditation, consciousness studies, or neurotechnology • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Preferred: • PhD in a relevant field or equivalent research experience • Familiarity with BCI, neurofeedback systems, or electrophysiological data acquisition • Experience with Git and collaborative development environments • Basic hardware integration (e.g., sensors, microcontrollers, real-time systems) • Personal meditation or mindfulness practice
What We Offer
• A unique opportunity to work in a cutting-edge field integrating neuroscience, technology, and contemplative practice • Direct involvement in international collaborations and on-site retreats with expert meditators • Hands-on training in EEG, biosignal monitoring, and BCI applications • A creative, mission-driven, and collaborative research environment • Opportunities for leadership in scientific development and publishing
