Junior Software Developer
As part of a highly technical quantitative investment team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of core trading, data, and operational systems. The role is hands-on and involves working closely with experienced engineers to design clean, efficient solutions and ensure system reliability. You will participate in code reviews, testing, deployment workflows, and ongoing performance improvements. This position provides exposure to the real operational environment of a systematic investment firm, without requiring prior finance experience.
A well-established quantitative investment firm with a strong performance track record and a highly skilled team. The company is based in Zug and develops its core trading and data infrastructure in-house and operates with a lean, collaborative culture that encourages ownership and technical depth.
Must-Haves
- Forthcoming or recent graduate (up to summer 2026 or up to ~2 years of professional experience).
- Strong foundation in programming fundamentals and software design.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented or lower-level programming language (C#, C++, Java, or Rust preferred).
- Strong quantitative and analytical thinking skills.
- BSc/MSc in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.).
- Self-directed working style and clear, structured communication.
- No prior finance or trading knowledge required.
- Onsite 5 days a week based in Zug

- Experience from internships, personal coding projects, or open-source contributions.
- Interest in system-level problem solving, performance optimization, or infrastructure engineering.
Benefits
- Work in a small, highly skilled engineering team with direct access to senior talent.
- High level of ownership due to a lean, flat organisational structure.
- Hands-on role with real influence on core trading and data infrastructure.
- Opportunity to learn the day-to-day operations of a systematic investment firm, without requiring prior finance knowledge.
- Collaborative and informal working culture with short decision-making paths.
Compensation
- Competitive base salary.
- Performance-based bonus component that increases with responsibility and contribution.
- Long-term growth tied to ownership of critical systems rather than job title progression.
