Head of Student & Postdoc Affairs

Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking a Head of Student & Postdoc Affairs to join our academic research institute. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a liaison between PhD students, postdocs, and faculty, fostering a supportive and productive research environment.

This position involves a broad range of consultative and advisory responsibilities in a vibrant international academic setting, engaging with internal and external stakeholders. It will be available as of March 2026.

In this role, you will

  • Coordinate our international PhD program.
  • Provide guidance and career counselling to PhD students and postdocs.
  • Participate in thesis advisory committee meetings.
  • Lead training programs
  • Conduct and evaluate employee surveys.
  • Collaborate on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Manage alumni relations.

About you

  • You hold a PhD in life sciences.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills.
  • You have proven coaching and mentoring abilities, ideally supported by formal training.
  • You are skilled in conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
  • You work independently with a strong team spirit.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively in English.
