Middle Office & Shipping Specialist Physical Trading (m/w/d) – 100%

To strengthen our trading team in Stettbach ZH / Dübendorf, we are looking for a:

Your mission:

• Support the trading team in daily business with a focus on trade execution, contract drafting and management, logistics coordination, and risk control
• Coordinate logistical processes with logistics providers, including the organisation of sea and/or land transport, and close collaboration with other business areas to ensure efficient operations
• Handle freight inquiries, plan efficient multimodal logistics chains, and organise and track shipments as well as independent inspections
• Design and further develop efficient middle office processes as well as the trading tools we use
• Manage and maintain an overview of ongoing shipments, ensuring timely follow-up on all operational steps from booking to final delivery
• Take ownership of projects interfacing with the trading operations and gradual introduction into selected trading activities
• Regular review and reconciliation of warehouse stock reports with internal system records, including inventory checks for stocks held in ports and warehouses
• Prepare, review and manage trade and shipping documentations
• Review and allocate freight, storage and inspection costs to the relevant trades
• Support internal projects

Your profile:

• More than 3 years of experience in middle office, operations management, or container logistics, particularly in organizing and handling sea freight as well as pre- and post-carriage. Experience in a trading company is an advantage
• Knowledge of multimodal transport and ideally experience in full chartering of vessels
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken are required. Good German skills are an advantage; additional languages such as French or Italian are a plus
• Strong interest in commodity trading, numerical aptitude, and strong analytical and solution-oriented thinking
• Independent, structured, and reliable working style with a strong hands-on mentality and high level of personal responsibility
• Experience with trade, transport, and export documentation, combined with strong attention to detail when reviewing documents, figures, deadlines and operational details
• Very good MS Office skills, especially Excel, and confident handling of data and operational processes
