Senior Audit Manager
This is an initial 6 month contract running with option to extend on a long term basis, with start date by October/November 2025.
The key challenge of this role is leading an audit while supervising a team of highly qualified senior audit experts and liaising with senior stakeholders from the Banking department with long-standing tenure at the organisation. The successful candidate needs to be able to challenge and guide these stakeholders through the audit process.
The purpose of this role is to:
- Lead and execute banking-related audit and advisory engagements to evaluate and improve processes and controls, applying a risk-based methodology.
- Prepare impactful audit reports for Management and the Audit Committee, effectively communicating key audit observations, and providing insightful advice and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain high-quality audit documentation and conduct thorough analysis of observations to support well-founded conclusions.
- Ensure audit engagements are conducted in alignment with professional standards and the approved audit plan.
- Manage an assigned audit project, coordinating effectively with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Serve as a team leader in delivering audit engagements in alignment with the approved audit plan.
As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a Senior Audit Manager with 10+ years experience in audit (including internal audit) ideally within a large investment bank or international financial services to take on a leadership role within our client working closely with senior stakeholders in the bank.
You will possess as many of the following skills as possible:
· Minimum of 10 years progressive audit experience within the financial services sector, a Central Bank or an International Financial Institution leading internal audit engagements related to banking activities and supervising high-performing audit teams.
· In-depth knowledge of banking products, including derivatives, (reverse) repurchase agreements, fixed-income instruments, interest rate products, and foreign exchange.
· Strong understanding of business processes across front, middle, and back-office functions, including collateral management.
· Professional certifications related to banking (CFA, FRM, or equivalent).
· Fluency in English is required
Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
