Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and help us shape the future of global communication.

As a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer at ECS Technologie AG, you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain bare-metal Linux-based infrastructure to support our satellite IoT and GSaaS solutions.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our systems and services.
• Collaborate across the organization to develop and deploy innovative solutions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Provide user support for infrastructure services.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the team.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

• 5+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Engineer or similar role
• Strong independent work ethic, and ability to solve problems with little oversight
• Ability to prioritize workloads and set realistic delivery expectations
• Experience building and maintaining self-hosted physical infrastructure (bare metal servers)
• Deep understanding of Linux internals, networking and system architecture
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, python etc.)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.)
• Experience with bare metal virtualization (KVM, Proxmox), containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience building redundant systems (both physical and software)
• Experience with an automation platform (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet)
• Security focused design (best practices, familiarity with concepts & attention to detail)
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Additional skills that are nice to have but not required:

• Networking experience (to include routing, switch management etc.)
• Experience with BSD (OpenBSD, FreeBSD etc.)
• Cloud Networking Experience (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute)
• Other languages (as a global company, languages more than German/French are key to our success )
• Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) infrastructure
• Experience with satellite technologies and tooling
