You are responsible for all quality topics within the Repair Shop in Birr, ensuring consistent standards and supporting reliable, on-time delivery. You work closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, and Engineering to strengthen collaboration and drive quality across the full value chain. You also connect with customers on quality-related matters while leading continuous improvement, process development, and capability building to support operational excellence.
As Production Quality Manager Repair Shop (OneBirr), you will:
Take overall responsibility for quality performance within the Repair Shop
Guide, support, and develop a small team of quality inspectors and engineers
Ensure the implementation, sustainability, and continuous improvement of Built In Quality (BIQ) principles
Promote a “Right First Time” approach by supporting preventive quality methods in daily operations
Support teams in meeting inspection plans, quality requirements, and customer expectations
Act as the main quality contact for internal and external customers
Ensure timely and sustainable handling of non-conformances (NCRs) with minimal impact on operations
Guide structured root cause analyses (e.g. 8D, 5 Why) and support effective corrective and preventive actions
What you bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical field (or technical background with relevant professional and team coordination experience)
Experience in quality, manufacturing, Lean, or continuous improvement, ideally in power generation or heavy industry
Understanding of inspection and testing methods for turbine components or similar equipment
Experience in team coordination within production or quality environments
Knowledge of structured problem solving methods (e.g. 8D, 5 Why)
Understanding of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
Good communication skills in both German and English are a must
Nice to have
Experience in strengthening Built In Quality (BIQ) in production environments
Ability to translate data into practical improvement actions
Structured and solution oriented way of working in a dynamic environment
Confidence in customer and audit situations
Leadership approach that supports development, trust, and team engagement
Interest in continuous improvement and operational excellence
